When you close your eyes and imagine the perfect English summer wedding what do you see? Glorious sunshine, meadows of wildflowers, a gorgeous bride with flowers in her hair and a dapper groom by her side. These are just a few of the gorgeous details from the day that made up Emma & Paul’s elegant and rustic wedding day at Sulgrave Manor, the perfect rural setting for the day’s celebrations. For this London bride & groom their wedding really was a romantic country escape for them and all their friends and family. The sun shone all day allowing guests to enjoy champagne & croquet in the gardens, giving the day a dreamy relaxed feel enjoyed by all. The day really reflected Emma and Paul’s personalities and relationship, easy going and generous they provided an amazing day for their guests. They had a beautiful wedding, which reflected their style and allowed them to really enjoy themselves and above all let their love for each other flow through the day. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Emma looked exquisite in her elegant Joyce Young By Storm wedding dress from their London boutique on Chiltern Street. She finished her classic English rose bridal look with a gorgeous blusher veil from the London bridal boutique. Emma’s make-up & hair was beautifully done by Anna Ashfield make-up artist and Sally Scissorhands hair design.
The pretty pastel pink peonies & roses and ivory freesias for Emma’s bouquet were complimented with all ivory bridesmaids’ bouquets with accents of green, all by florist Christine Hawtin. These soft shades made the perfect accent to Emma & Paul’s burgundy colour scheme that was picked up in the fabulous Dessy bridesmaids’ dresses, the ushers’ details, their table plan, placenames and of course all the gorgeous stationery for the day made by Balscote Press.
The wild flower meadow and the beautiful gardens at Sulgrave Manor made for a breathtaking setting for our bride & groom portraits. The couple arrived at this gorgeous Oxfordshire venue in a superb cream vintage Rolls Royce Silver Cloud from Regency Carriages.
Emma & Paul added a touch of fun to their reception details by having a sweet bar stacked with jars of vintage sweets and cake stands filled with their favourite baked treats. Paul’s grandmother made the most delicious chocolate crunch for them, a special request for their dessert table as it is legendary amongst all their friends and family! They sourced the sweets from the nostalgic Cranch’s Sweetshop and even had the typical old fashioned paper bags for guests to fill up with these edible delights!
A photograph from their engagement shoot with us in the Spring was displayed in a lovely shabby chic frame and made a fabulous alternative to a guestbook for everyone to sign. All the catering for the reception was by Lemon Zest Catering who were fantastic to work with on the day and drinks were provided by Sulgrave Manor’s preferred supplier North Oxfordshire Wine. The first dance and evening entertainment was kicked off by DJ Bradley Fowler and it was no surprise that everyone took to the dance floor and continued enjoying the day’s celebrations!
Their was so much joy throughout the day, which was great to witness and be a part of! It was a real privilege to have been there and capture photographs that beautifully reflect Emma & Paul’s gorgeous wedding and them as a couple.
