Spring in Chinese philosophy, as our yoga teacher’s have been reminding us, is synonymous with new beginnings. This is apt for us as we start the journey of getting to know our lovely new couples getting married in the year ahead. It is also fitting for our couples as the countdown to becoming Mr & Mrs really gets into motion. So at the start of Spring we kicked off the new season with this beautiful South Bank London engagement session with Merlin and James.
We met this dynamic couple last year in a trendy Chelsea hangout. From the off it was clear how excited these two were for their upcoming wedding and how completely in love with each other they are. Tick and tick, we really wanted to be a part of their big day! Over coffee before starting their engagement session we loved hearing about all the wedding details and plans that had evolved since that first meeting. The colour scheme, which I won’t reveal now, is to die for and I have loved being privy to all Merlin’s design inspiration through her secret inspiration boards on Pinterest! Their wedding at Hampton Court Palace in the summer is going to be filled with their personalities and histories, from Merlin’s Fijian and Indian heritage to incorporating reflections of the amazing setting for their wedding.
The shoot itself was so much fun as we strolled the bustling South Bank on this clear Spring day. Merlin and James were so relaxed in front of the camera and just enjoyed being in the moment with each other. The result is a fantastic set of images and wonderful memories getting to know them both. We ended the shoot with a stop at the fabulous Borough Market, a foodie’s paradise, where James and Merlin shopped for their fresh produce for the week ahead and we all enjoyed a divine lunch together. We can’t wait to see these two again for their Hampton Court Palace wedding!
