Arriving at Vanessa and Stephen’s beautiful Oast House in Kent we were greeted with golden light and an entire menagerie of animals. Chickens, dogs and their two horses are clearly at the heart of this lovely couple’s abode. Together they add stacks of personality to this rural idyll that our couple have made their sweet home. It was wonderful to meet everyone as we got to know Vanessa and Stephen during their engagement session. As we traversed around the lake, chatting about their upcoming nuptials, we were excitedly accompanied by their two friendly canines. Vanessa and Stephen are planning a spectacular wedding celebration in the magnificent Great Hall at Blenheim Palace. Their wedding date has been specifically chosen to fall on their anniversary.
Stephen and Vanessa’s home in Kent was the perfect setting for their engagement session. It is a place they both adore and where they felt completely natural and relaxed. The resident chicken patrol headed by Roger the rooster soon came to inspect the strange activity unfolding on their turf and they were clearly not bothered in the slightest by us or their much larger four footed rivals. Vanessa’s love for horses and riding has been passed onto Stephen during the course of their relationship. With Stephen’s distinctly adventurous personality we weren’t surprised to learn that he had recently taken up riding and this is now something they enjoy doing together. A stop at the stables to meet their two gorgeous horses was a must and we captured some lovely portraits with them to finish off the shoot. We really enjoyed getting to know Vanessa and Stephen in preparation for their big day and we can’t wait for their wedding celebrations next month. With all they have planned it is set to be a pretty amazing day. For now we’ve shared a few of our favourite photos from their engagement session!
