Zoe and Karsten married this summer in the beautiful surrounds of their former University town. The setting they chose was the architecturally stunning Bodleian Library in the heart of Oxford. Having their wedding in a place they both studied yet never met was perfectly fitting. On consideration the couple found there had been many times in their lives where they were in the same place at the same time and could easily have encountered one another before they eventually met. Once Zoe and Karsten had even lived on the very same street! Fate was determined that eventually their paths would cross. Zoe and Karsten, not only were you destined to find one another. Together you also discovered a love that is fearless and grows stronger with each new adventure. Thank you for letting us capture your unforgettable wedding day. We wish you many years of happiness together!
The preparations before the ceremony were lovely and relaxed. We met our Bride at the Randolph Hotel in central Oxford where after returning from the Mahogany Hairdressing team, make-up artist Sophie Small was there to complete Zoe’s finishing touches!
Before the big day Zoe had told us about her wedding dress by the Grecian designer Sophia Kokosalaki. Our expectations were definitely met and Zoe looked sensational in the elegant design she had chosen.
Our Bride’s hand embroidered veil and bouquet of untamed florals completed the look which was sophisticated yet natural.
It is easy to see how Zoe and Karsten compliment each other with their good looks, marvellous dispositions and of course there intellect too. Zoe you really were a vision of beauty and happiness on this special day.
We met Karsten before the ceremony at the historic Oxford pub The Kings Arms for a few portraits and a relaxed whisky with his Best Man and brother.
Our debonair Groom impressed in a bespoke Gieves and Hawkes suit in a hue of light blue. Karsten’s commanding presence was perfectly reflected by the striking surrounds of the University buildings.
Once Zoe, her Bridesmaid and flowergirls were all all dressed and ready they set off from the Randolph in what must be the most fabulous way to arrive at the aisle.
Our gorgeous Bride was piped through the streets of Oxford all the way to the ceremony in Convocation House at the Bodleian Library.
One of our favourite moments…the exquisite emotion of our Bride and Groom seeing each other walk down the aisle to say I do!
Zoe and Karsten were married in a very personal ceremony led by their effervescent humanist celebrant Zena Birch.
Our couple spent the first few moments of married life amongst the spires of Oxford as we stole away for portraits against the setting sun.
The intricate Wren doorway at the Bodleian Library made for an enthralling photo location. Although we think Zoe and Karsten’s love for another would make even the most mundane setting seem wildly romantic!
A quick stroll across the University quad led to yet another breathtaking scene against which we could capture the happiness emanating from our newlyweds.
After this final silhouette we returned to the Old Schools Quadrangle where our couple and their guests enjoyed champagne and canapes served by Oxford wedding caterers Tailor Made Top Nosh. The wedding reception then continued within the breathtaking interiors of the Divinity School. After a delicious dinner and speeches the party continued as everyone danced to the reels of a traditional Ceilidh band. An unforgettable day for a wonderful couple…
