Coombe Lodge Somerset Wedding: Emma & Neil

Soft sunlight, misty hillsides, moody sprinkles of drizzle and back to more pale midwinter sun breaking through thickset clouds. This mercurial weather was both atmospheric and totally apt for Emma and Neil’s Coombe Lodge wedding in Somerset. As Emma is a meteorological expert having four seasons in one day seemed fitting for their wedding day. From the onset Emma and Neil wanted to embrace all a December wedding entailed, including the unpredictable weather, making it very much part of their big day.

The views of the Somerset hills from Coombe Lodge brought the outside in and made a beautiful setting for their winter wedding. The art deco interiors of the building suited Emma and Neil’s classic style. Even Emma’s stunning Rachel Simpson shoes complemented the location with their scalloped leather detailing echoing the era of the decor. Our couple added warmth to the wintery colour pallete by incorporating burgundy tones into many of the details. There were also dashes of festive spirit with pocket-sized baubles making up the place names for each guest at the wedding breakfast. A pair of personalized reindeer decorations on the Coombe Lodge Christmas tree was a thoughtful touch and tied in with their love for animals. It is wonderful how much of their personalities was evident in Emma and Neil’s wedding. An appreciation for the more unusual inhabitants of the animal kingdom was topped only by their evening entertainment for originality. For their first dance Elvis was in the building!
