The first half of August saw us photographing some beautiful weddings in the Cotswolds and Oxford. After this Nicola spent two weeks visiting family in South Africa while Glen held the fort and of course took care of our cat Hemingway. We are so grateful for the lovely couples whose paths crossed ours and that our vocation allows us the freedom to travel too. August is a month to appreciate.
Fast Food {top left} Trying to stay healthy, productive, fit and on top of it all during very busy times can seem overwhelming and at times an insurmountable task. Somethings gotta give. Unless you are superman or woman of course. For us the compromise is usually food. Opting for unhealthier but faster options so we can stay on top of our editing and make sure our clients are looked after and perhaps squeeze in that hot yoga session too. However to truly be in a position to take care of others you must take care of yourself. So this year when we find we are too busy to prepare wholesome meals we now treat ourselves with a nutritious freshly prepared meal at one of our favourite health food cafes. Fast and Healthy!
Cedar {top middle} Sometimes simply looking at things from a new point of view reveals its beauty all over again. This beautiful cedar grows in a park near our home where we often walk.
Coffee Art {top right} This cute coffee art was enjoyed at one of Nicola’s favourite places, East Head Cafe in Knysna, on a visit to see family in South Africa this August.
Stormy Seas {middle left} This dramatic vista was taken on the beach at Buffelsbaai on the Garden Route, well loved by fisherman and surfers alike.
Wild Oysters {middle middle} A fresh food market in South Africa offered delicious wild oysters hand dived in Mosselbay. The fact that it was breakfast made it all the more decadent. Propriety was maintained by swapping bubbles for a freshly made green juice!
Eastern Cape Sunset {middle right} The beaches on the Eastern Cape are some of the most beautiful in the world…
Home {bottom left} Home is definitely where the heart is…after saying goodbye to family and friends in South Africa it was amazing to return to Glen and Hemingway.
Reflection {bottom middle} This photo was all about timing as it so often is. A retreating storm at sunset with not a breath of wind created this reflection.
Feathered Friend {bottom right} While away Nicola got to spend time with a cheeky Maroon Bellied Conure. Hopefully Hemingway will not be reading this!
