Fiona & Rob’s Pangdean Barn wedding in West Sussex took our breathe away with its timeless romance and style. Fiona is an exceptionally thoughtful and considerate person, which we discovered first hand before the wedding with her handwritten notes and lovely emails. Rob’s devotion to Fiona stood out from when we first met them and it has been so moving to witness such affection and care between two people. Their wedding completely reflected this with love and thought put into every detail and part of their day.
The day started perfectly with the boys and gals getting ready at The Hickstead Hotel. Walking up to Rob’s room we paused outside the door as we heard the rhythmic sounds of guitar scales being played conveying an almost otherworldly sense of calm compared to the usual wedding morning excitement. Entering the room we were met by Rob’s best man playing classical guitar music while the Groom and ushers were preparing for the day in what can only be described as a very gentlemanly fashion. In a suit, his grandfather’s watch and cufflinks Fiona had made for him as a wedding gift Rob carried off an old world sophistication.
The atmosphere as we met Fiona and her bridesmaids was just as relaxed and only contrasted by the music playing from the radio creating the soundtrack for their preparations. The girls had set aside plenty of time to get ready and enjoy the morning so we had the opportunity to get to know everyone and of course have fun getting some beautiful photographs of Fiona’s bridal preparation. Fiona looked sensational with her cathedral length veil that had the most exquisite lace edging to compliment the detail in her gorgeous Le Sposa wedding dress.
After a heartwarming ceremony at the Church the celebrations continued at Pangdean Barn near Brighton, a wonderful oak framed barn set in the stunning rolling hills of Sussex. The day was perfectly run by the owner of Pangdean Barn Nicky Currie and her amazing catering team Hunger Pangs led by Michael Phelan Pangdean Barn’s events manager. The charm and attention to detail made Pangdean Barn a tailor-made setting for Fiona and Rob’s big day and we were blown away by the amazing experience they provided.
We loved spending time with Fiona & Rob on this perfect summer’s evening for their wedding portraits. One of our favourite moments was when they both took an impromptu ‘tea break’. It is clear how happy and in the moment they both are, soaking up the emotion and atmosphere of the day and not even aware that we are taking a photo of them!
