When Philippa and Adam first told us about the Maunsel House Somerset wedding they were planning, we knew that their I do’s would be an occasion defined by individuality. The venue, a fabulous manor house in the Somerset countryside, has as much charm on the outside as it does on the inside. A mix of ancient trees and crumbling listed farm buildings on the grounds of Maunsel House are all home to a menagerie of birds; ducks, doves, geese, guineafowl and peacocks! On the inside the walls are covered in oil paintings, taxidermy, hats, furs, armory and some of the quirkiest items imaginable. Visitors to the house are encouraged to make themselves at home and can don a fur or hat (or decommissioned gun!) if they so wish! Maunsel House definitely played into our love for creating fine art location based wedding portraits and we loved capturing Philippa and Adam’s happiness in this unique setting. The gorgeous Autumn light appearing on cue during our first portrait session perfectly reflected the romance of the day. Our couple also added an Alpine twist on the weekend’s proceedings; from ski themed stationery, personalised cow bells for each guest and blazing fire pits in the evening, everything about the wedding was a reflection of Philippa and Adam making the day even more fun for them and all their guests! We wish our couple a beautiful married life together. It was an honour to capture the joy and love that shone from Philippa and Adam on their wedding.
