The weekend we met Alysha & Sam for their London engagement session was one of the hottest of the summer. If you have ever been in London in the heat you will know what I am talking about when I say the city was alive and buzzing. People out and about, music playing, glorious food smells from watermelon to barbecues permeating the air.
Alysha and Sam had chosen to have their engagement session at the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park, the very same place Sam took Alysha on their first date! He swept her off her feet right from the start. Alysha works in the art industry so Sam could not have chosen a more perfect spot. As we walked around the installations and wooded grounds in between laughing and joking we found out more about how their story started. There are two versions of course. Firstly that Sam started chatting to Alysha on the tube when he recognised her from their Church. The second that Sam took a tube in a completely different direction to his home for the chance to chat to the beautiful girl he had seen at church.
Alysha and Sam are great to be around, very relaxed and a good laugh. We had a glorious time photographing these two in the late evening sun and there was a touch of the surreal having The Rolling Stones live in concert providing background music as we went along. We can’t wait to join Alysha and Sam in celebrating their wedding near Brighton later this year and we are so honoured they have chosen us to document this important day for them. Here are a few of our favourite photos from their sun soaked London engagement session.
