When Erika and Matt started planning their wedding from the States, a childhood memory provided the inspiration for their Hampton Court Palace destination wedding. As a teenager our Bride spent a number of years living in London down the road from this historical setting. After a little research our couple were astounded to find they could get married in a Palace! Erika’s family were delighted that they would be returning somewhere that held a special place in their hearts. Matt’s family and all their friends were excited too for an adventure somewhere new. Our American couple created a memorable experience for all who traveled so far to celebrate the day with them. From their romantic First Look in the Sunken Garden, a heartfelt ceremony in the Painted Room of Little Banqueting House, to the private tour of the Palace in the evening before enjoying dinner in the splendour of the King’s Eating Room. We absolutely loved capturing this special occasion for Erika and Matt!
The morning of the wedding was full of excitement as Erika prepared to say I Do with her family by her side!
The joy of Erika’s Father as he saw his daughter in her wedding dress showed just how much this day meant.
Erika looked beautiful in a custom made design by Seattle based design team Cicada Bridal.
Soon it was time to head to Hampton Court Palace on this temperate March day.
Matt was ready and waiting for their First Look in the pretty surrounds of the Sunken Garden.
Erika carefully made her way to her husband to be and the excitement in the air was palpable!
The moment Matt turned around to see Erika was infused with joy and adoration…
Precisely why capturing a First Look is so special!
Having this private moment to enjoy together is a beautiful way to make the most of the occasion!
We then toured the beautiful grounds of the Palace for Bride and Groom portraits.
Making the most of the epic locations available such as the magnificent King’s Stairway.
Alongside the grand locations we also captured more natural and intimate photos of our lovely couple…
The setting and Erika and Matt’s unique personalities providing us with plenty of inspiration…
After traversing the Palace for beautiful couple’s portraits it was time for the formal family photos.
Family and Bridal Party met us at The Little Banqueting House where the I Do’s would be taking place.
The Painted Room looked breathtaking setup for the wedding ceremony.
A harpist and fresh florals added atmosphere and a feminine touch.
Giant floral urns in soft tones of green and white by florist Violets & Velvet created impact to match the room.
This emotive moment of the Groom and his Father captured right before the ceremony…
…Was echoed by the fatherly pride and love shown by Erika’s Dad as he led her down the aisle.
For the second time that day Matt got to appreciate seeing Erika walk toward him.
This time their happiness was shared with all their loved ones looking on…
After the ceremony our couple had time for few more portraits in front of the Palace.
Before joining their guests for champagne, canapes and toasts before a private tour of the State Apartments.
An evening of fine food and merriment was enjoyed with the whole of Hampton Court Palace to themselves!
Congratulations Erika and Matt; we wish you all the joy in the world for life ahead as Mr & Mrs!
Thank you to everyone who made Erika and Matt’s Hampton Court Palace destination wedding happen!
