I am sure that like for us as wedding photographers, seeing their wedding day printed on the pages of a national wedding magazine, is an extension of the wedding day for our Bride and Groom and an unexpected moment to reflect on all the beautiful memories. This month we are so happy to see Mangala and Alex’s Blenheim Palace wedding published in the summer May/June 2014 edition of Asian Bride magazine.
It is such an exhilarating feeling to have a wedding we photographed published. We hear the letterbox and a dull thud as something heavy lands on the wooden floor of the hallway. We know the magazine’s release date is imminent so we guess (not always correctly!) that this must be our early copy that has arrived. I sprint calmly and coolly walk to the door and as soon as I’ve picked up the publication start impatiently tugging at the plastic cover. As soon as the magazine has been freed and as I’m still making my way to the table I start flicking though the crisp pages, waiting for that moment of recognition. Some times I wait for Glen who unlike me has remained collected and has not dropped absolutely everything to run to the letterbox. Most times I’m afraid to admit I simply don’t have the self restraint! Then that moment of recognition as we spot our couple’s wedding. The excitement of seeing the photographs that were chosen and reading the story that’s been told. The interview is a familiar narrative as we’ve really gotten to know our couples but often there is a small discovery about them or their day that has been woven into the tale.
I loved reading Magala’s interview with Asian Bride. From how they chose their wedding colours as inspired by elephants and peacocks to give a taste of India to the story of how her and Alex met and where the proposal took place. My favourite part was finding out about how Mangala surprised Alex with a very personal song choice as they walked down the aisle as husband and wife! To find out what this was we’ve shared the full feature below and you can see more from their wedding by clicking here.
Thank you again to the excellent team that made Mangala & Alex’s Blenheim Palace wedding happen!
