“Don’t worry, the sun always shines when I’m in the UK.” Bobby’s words during his and Emily’s engagement session came as we discussed the inevitable wet weather plan for their destination wedding in the heart of the Cotswolds. The forecast certainly didn’t agree. The week leading up to the wedding promised rain, wind and everything in between. But Bobby was right. The sun arrived and never really left, casting a golden glow over The Manor House in Castle Combe. One of England’s most iconic wedding venues, but on this particular day it felt less defined by its beautiful gardens and historic stone walls than by the people who filled them with laughter. Guests had travelled from America, the UK and beyond, creating an atmosphere that was impossible not to be swept up in.

The wedding morning reminded us why we love what we do. Emily, surrounded by the people she loves most, moved through the morning with a wonderful balance of calm and excitement, and it was a privilege to document it. As the day progressed, laughter became the soundtrack. Conversations spilled into the gardens, embraces lingered a little longer and every part of the celebration felt effortlessly joyful. Then, after the cake had been cut, the evening took on a new energy. Emily surprised everyone with an outfit change that perfectly captured the spirit of the party to come: playful and effortlessly cool. The dance floor quickly filled, from an emotional first dance to some spectacular moves later in the evening that will no doubt become family folklore.

Looking back, what stands beyond the sunshine and the sublime setting of The Manor House was the feeling permeated the day. The kind of joy that can be seen in every embrace, every laugh and every glance across a crowded room. Emily and Bobby, thank you for inviting us into such a special chapter of your lives. We feel incredibly fortunate to have documented your wedding and wish you a lifetime of love, laughter and adventure together. And Bobby, we’ll never doubt your weather forecasting again.
