For Emma and Neil’s engagement session we headed to the beautiful city of Bristol, an urban mecca of culture and curiosities. Bristol means a lot to both Emma and Neil. It is where they both studied for their PhDs and now work. A great deal of their romantic history is also imprinted here on the city’s rich and textured landscape. They have this year also bought their first house together here, firmly binding the city to their lives.
On the day of their engagement session we met them at Bristol Zoo. Both long standing members this was the setting for many a date and even the spot where Neil proposed to Emma, choosing to do so in the presence of their favourite animal the tapir! From here we headed to the Clifton coffee shops with our fantastic tour guides pointing out all the sights as we chatted about their upcoming wedding day. Walking through the gardens and parks of the city with this couple was the perfect way to get to know Emma and Neil as so much of where we were tied into their lives and story together.
The varied topography of the city provided a rich backdrop for the photos with the history of the place giving each scene layers of meaning personal to Emma and Neil. We love that their wedding will be just as meaningful and personal, with every detail chosen because of what it reflects about them.
