For our final I Do’s of 2016 we had the honour of photographing Nada and James’s Barnsley House destination wedding. It was a beautiful and intimate occasion. Although Nada and James hail from Scotland and Oman they first met at school in the faraway reaches of South Africa. Both have since lived all across the world and have formed close friendships wherever they have been. This therefore was the perfect occasion to get everyone together for an unforgettable celebration. James and Nada currently reside in Kathmandu and decided to bring the flavours of Nepal to the Cotswold countryside. Their shared love of music was also infused into the day. Culture and music created a magical atmosphere for Nada and James’s romantic Barnsley House wedding. Amidst all the pretty what stood out the most was the spirit of kindness and depth of character that both Nada and James shared. We wish these two beautiful souls a lifetime of happiness and love together…
Nada spent the wedding morning at James’s parents countryside abode not far from Barnsley House.
The bluesy sounds of B.B. King, a thoughtful Christmas gift from James, created a soulful vibe.
Sumptuous bordeaux velvet booties and the lilac notes of Amouage added beautiful sensory touches…
As Nada prepared for her wedding day.
Our Bride’s look was ethereal with her dress made from a dreamy combination of tulle and lace…
Nada is very creative so we were not surprised to discover she designed her amazing wedding dress herself!
Our Bride looked absolutely breathtaking…
And we couldn’t wait to see James’s expression when he saw his bride to be.
We met James at Barnsley House before the ceremony.
Where our Groom and the guys were making sure the finishing touches were just right!
James looked very dapper in hues of blue and a hint of berry.
Barnsley House exuded charm as ever in the soft winter sunlight.
A touch of frost and morning mist adding to the wintery beauty of the Barnsley House gardens.
Nada arrived looking radiant with a gorgeous bouquet made by Westwood design adding warmth and whimsy.
The Potager Restaurant was decked out for winter romance….
Mistletoe and florals in rich berry and silver tones by Westwood Design added an extra dash of pretty to the mix!
Nada had her two best girl friends by her side to share in all the excitement.
With all the guests seated and our Groom ready and waiting in anticipation…
Nada made her grand entrance to the sounds of a Jimi Hendrix song!
Rings were exchanged with overwhelming joy…
…After which Nada and James shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
Applause, cheers and smiles greeted our happy newlyweds!
As the champagne flowed we started the reception with some formal photos of guests in the gardens.
We loved capturing the natural rapport shared by our couple’s friends and family…
While guests returned to the cosy interiors of Barnsley House we stole Nada and James away for portraits.
Icy reflections and golden winter light…
…Along with the stunning temple garden of Barnsley House, provided plenty of inspiration.
Most enthralling to our artist’s eyes was the genuine love and affection between our couple.
Nada your sheer beauty turned us into irrepressible admirers in tandem with James…
And the love revealed in each image was a joy to capture…
Wisely James and Nada had planned their wedding ceremony early enough in the day…
…To make the most of the available daylight for their wedding, which made for beautiful natural light photos.
A short stroll from Barnsley House the Village Pub was set up and ready for the wedding dinner.
Compasses, Tibetan Prayer Flags and Himalayan Salt made thoughtful favours for each guest.
Wild and luxurious floral arrangements by Westwood Design added romance to the wedding decor.
Iridescent prayer flags evoked the spirit of Tibet and twinkling winter plum candles created a cosy atmosphere.
A Scottish piper lead all the guests from Barnsley House to the Village Pub for dinner.
The last of our portraits were taken in the soft afternoon light of the winter sun…
The ever present mist adding an exquisite quality to the light.
We are so grateful that Nada and James chose us to capture their Barnsley House destination wedding.
Our heartfelt congratulations once more to this gorgeous couple!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Nada and James’s Barnsley House destination wedding so special:
