From the moment we landed on South African soil and headed to Oakfield Farm in Muldersdrift to visit the venue ahead of Marene and Bertus’s Johannesburg wedding we knew their big day was going to be incredibly special. The weather was beyond ideal, our couple so completely happy and in love and the setting for the day simply amazing; now amplify all these things ten times to get an idea of how things were on their actual wedding the next day. Fully rested from our journey from London we arrived at The Dairy on Oakfield Farm with blue skies and a generous sun. The gardens were in full bloom with pink roses providing a luscious juxtaposition against the bush veld beyond, with trees and parasols providing cool shade from the African heat. The chapel and reception room were transformed from the day before with masses of fresh cut flowers and the most stunning details providing a beautifully rustic feel in keeping with the rural surroundings.
When we met our Groom in the morning after his round of golf with his family and friends he was relaxed but clearly anticipating the day ahead. At the dressing room where we met our Bride all the girls were enjoying champers and savouring this precious time together. It was so wonderful being part of and capturing the excitement and fun of the preparation ahead of the “I do’s”. The rest of the wedding day unfolded carrying through this abundance of happiness. I don’t think Marene and Bertus could have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate their love. We can’t wait to share more from their wedding but for now here is a small preview of the day. We hope our Bride and Groom have had a fantastic honeymoon in Cape Town and we wish them the most magnificent year ahead as they start 2014 as husband and wife!
